A. Duties attached to the Technical posts of FMTTIs

Director,FMTTI

  1. Head of the Institution and responsible for organization of training and testing activities as per Govt. of India orders/policy.
  2. Head of the Department and Disciplinary Authority for Group ‘B’ (NG), Group C and Group D of the Institute and responsible for the smooth functioning of the overall administration of the staff and the Institute.
  3. Head of the testing authority for organizing all types of tractor and farm machinery testing.
  4. Aim to implement various Plan and Non-Plan programmes of the Govt. of India to achieve the target.
  5. Aim to control the subsidiary activities like management and development of
  6. Institutional farm, preparation & development of training infrastructure and test set-ups.
  7. Aim to get prepared the technical articles, training literature, test codes and related documents required in organizing various training and testing activities.
  8. Responsible for residential and non-residential buildings, farm land and basic amenities for the welfare of the staff and their families.

Senior Agricultural Engineer,FMTTI

  1. Responsible for coordinating the various activities related to field training and field-testing of tractors/power tillers/agricultural machines.
  2. Responsible for imparting International and specialized high level training courses organized by the training section and preparation of training literature/lesson plans for effective and efficient training.
  3. Incharge of Central Purchase Section for purchasing of tractors/agricultural machines/allied equipment/engineering materials/fuel oil lubricants/general stores required for day-to-day working of the Institute.
  4. Responsible for management of institute farm for crop production in addition to the field training and testing activities.
  5. Review & amendments of BIS/ISO/OECD test codes in respect of tractors /power tillers / combine harvesters / Engine of the agricultural machinery
  6. Overall In-charge of the training section, development of various training laboratories and responsible for planning and organization of various training programmes and post evaluation survey
  7. Responsible for management of operational units related to tractors, agricultural machines, irrigation pumps and other allied equipment and their operation, service and repair.
  8. Development of audio visual aids to enable the undergoing trainees for ease in acquiring training skill.
  9. Management of trainees hostel and their welfare.
  10. Responsible for operation, maintenance and repair of water supply system and electricity generation and supply, repair section and vehicle section.
  11. Responsible for development and upgradation of various test set ups and its repair and maintenance.

Agricultural Engineer,FMTTI

  1. To assist SAE (i) for organizing International and specialized high level training courses and preparation of training material/lesson plan for effective and efficient training (ii) for carrying out users survey of tractors/power tillers tested under Batch Testing programmes and preparation of users survey report. To attend developmental work of testing and to plan for future testing work and chalk out the list of stores and equipment required (iii) for smooth functioning of various activities of the testing wing and compilation and preparation of test reports (iv) in planning and organization of various training programmes
  2. Management of (i) various activities related to field training, field testing and crop production on the Institute's farm (ii) water supply system, vehicle system, auto electrical repair and repair section of the Institute.
  3. Responsible for (i) planning, supervision and control of jobs undertaken in various sections of the workshop i.e. machine, carpentry and welding shop etc. (ii) fabrication of various items required for day to day work of the Institute being undertaken by all sections (iii) for collection, issue and disposal of engineering stores of the Institute with the help of store keeper (iv) for operation, maintenance and repair of tractors, power tillers, improved agricultural machines, vehicles, pumps and earth moving equipment, etc.
  4. To develop (i) various training laboratories for conducting successful and efficient training courses (ii) training material/audio-visual aids to enable the undergoing trainees to acquire skill in easy and efficient way (iii) testing set-ups, jigs and fixtures required for installation and attachment of test samples.
  5. To act as Hostel Warden for the trainees hostel and their welfare.
  6. To carry out tests for performance evaluation of tractors, power tillers, combine harvesters, engine and other farm machines.
  7. To offer comments on review and amendments of BIS/ISO/OECD test code in respect to tractors, power tillers and farm machinery.
  8. Verification of tractors, power tillers, combine harvesters and other agricultural machinery for certification under Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR).
  9. To carry out testing as per BIS codes of oil engines, sprayer and dusters for certification.
  10. To supervise various field testing activities and their compilation and preparation of test reports.
  11. To install and update the infrastructure available at the Institute for the testing of different kinds of agricultural machinery.
  12. To coordinate training section for imparting training on basic trades to the trainees.
  13. To carry out documentation of test data, preparation of test report, etc.

Senior Technical Assistant (Instrumentation),FMTTI

  1. To carry out the specified test like noise level test, mechanical vibration test, brake test etc.
  2. To assist Assistant Engineer in creating required facilities for testing of electrical components of tractors.
  3. To assist in servicing, maintenance, calibration and repair of various testing/electronics instruments.
  4. To carry out service, maintenance and repair of electrical/electronics equipment like UPS, Inverter and Constant Voltage Transformer (CVT).

Senior Technical Assistant,FMTTI

  1. To supervise and conduct theoretical and practical classes under various courses conducted by the Institute. To Chalk out training programmes, prepare lesson plans, develop Training & Testing laboratories, etc.

Senior Technician, FMTTI

  1. Operation, repair and maintenance of Electronic Instrument, fitted on Tractors, Power Tillers, Vehicles
  2. Allied equipments, pumps etc. and their Installation, etc.and its allied record keeping.
  3. To assist in repair, calibration, Testing of Electronics Instruments available on Tractors, Vehicles, Power Tillers, allied equipments, etc.
  4. To assist in conducting training classes and testing activities.
  5. To impart training, field practice, demonstration on Tractor/Power tiller, vehicles, Pumps, P.P. Equipments, Agri. Machines, etc. To operate, calibrate, install, and overhaul the test machines during Testing of Equipment.
  6. To repair and maintain the Tractors, Vehicles, Power Tiller, Pumps Agricultural Machinery etc.
  7. Maintenance of Laboratories, Log Books and inventory registers of Tractor, Power Tillers and other allied equipment.

Technician, FMTTI

  1. Operation and maintenance of Tractors/Power Tillers/ Engine/Pump/ farm machine/Vehicles, etc. and its records up-dation.
  2. To assist in repair-maintenance of tractors, power tillers, agricultural machinery etc.
  3. To assist in conducting training classes/ demonstration/ practice, etc. and testing of machines.
  4. Driving of vehicles.
  5. Repair-maintenance of vehicles and up-keep of records, Log Books, etc.
  6. Responsible for cleanliness of vehicles
  7. To assist in conducting training classes on general and auto-electrical systems of Tractors, Power Tillers, Vehicles, etc.
  8. To assist in repair-maintenance of electrical system of tractors, vehicles, Audio-visual Aids, Computers Instruments, allied equipments etc. and electrical systems of buildings, street lights, etc, wherever electricity exists.
  9. To assist in development of Electrical infrastructure, Laboratory and teaching aids.

Multitasking Staff, FMTTI

  1. To assist in conducting training classes both theoretical and practical / demonstration, etc.
  2. Operation and maintenance of Tractors, vehicles, Power Tillers Engine, DG set, pumps, etc. to assist in maintenance and up-keep of records of Log Books, inventory registers etc.
  3. To assist in repair-maintenance of tractors, vehicle, pumps, power tillers, agricultural machinery and allied equipments etc.
  4. To assist in testing of farm machine, their operation, maintenance and repair/overhauling.
  5. Responsible for cleanliness of Tractor, Power Tillers and allied agricultural machinery.

Duties attached to the Farm Posts of FMTTIs

Farm Superintendent, FMTTI

  1. To assess the annual requirement of inputs like seeds, manures, fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, etc.
  2. To arrange for proper and timely irrigation in the Farm and orchards
  3. To guard against the attack of insects, pests and diseases in the farm / orchards / office / residential complex
  4. Arrangement for timely sowing, weeding, harvesting, post-harvesting and disposal of farm produce
  5. Security of the farm / orchards.

Agricultural Assistant, FMTTI

  1. Responsible for planning and management of the farm in consultation with the (Farm Incharge) and to attend all activities including control of labour, maintenance of records of seeds and fertilizers, supervision of Malis for gardening and supervision of security through Chowkidar Cum Farm Mate.
  2. Responsible for imparting practical training classes on agronomical aspects, use of fertilizers, application of insecticides & pesticides and provide information about latest agricultural developments in respect to farm mechanization.
  3. To undertake developmental activities in the farm like increasing irrigation potential, fertility of the soil, development of orchard, land leveling and water harvesting etc.

Duties of Non Techncial posts of FMTTIs

Office Superintendent , FMTTI

  1. To look after matters relating to administration, establishment, accounts, cash, estates and dispensary.
  2. To ensure timely processing of cases relating to recruitment of staff, their promotion, pay fixation, probation clearance, confirmation, review cases, MACP cases, reservations in appointment, pension cases, records management, and other house keeping jobs.
  3. Preparation of annual budget, processing of personal claims, reconciliation of receipts and expenditure, attending to audit objections/inspection reports and their timely reply, preparation/checking of bills,
  4. Timely submission of all reports, returns and other information required by Ministry and other agencies.
  5. Work relating to Official Language Policy, Parliament Questions/Assurances, Disciplinary cases, Empanelment of doctors.
  6. Maintenance & up-keep records of Cash Book, TR Receipt, Cheque Book and Contingent, Monthly Expenditure, Receipt, Cheque Issued, NPS, Bill Registers, Rosters, Service Books, Guard Files and matters relating to ACRs, Rosters, Service Books, Guard Files and matters relating to ACRs.
  7. Maintenance of NPS Accounts and it’s on line up-loading.
  8. Income Tax calculation & issuance of Form 16 and eTDS Returns.
  9. Responsible for arrangement of general meetings etc.
  10. Responsible for smooth & timely functioning of the sections with the assistance of related staff of the office.
  11. To attend other duties as assigned by the superiors.

Stenographer Grade I , FMTTI

  1. To provide stenographic and secretarial assistance to Director
  2. To attend to visitors, telephone calls/ faxes and its record.
  3. To arrange appointments, meetings, programme of the Director.
  4. Maintenance of confidential correspondence and records.
  5. Maintenance of files relating to matters dealt by the Director at his own level.
  6. Preparation of tour programmes and TA bills of Director.
  7. Maintenance of CR dossiers of Group B(NG) & Group C staff.
  8. To attend other duties as assigned by the superiors.

Accountant, FMTTI

  1. Responsible to carry out the duties attached to Cash & Accounts.
  2. Receipts & payments, maintenance of Cash Book, Budget, Pay Bills, payment of firm bills, TA, LTC bills etc.
  3. Periodical reports and return, receipt and expenditure.
  4. Accounts with PAO, Bank and Ministry.
  5. Responsible for receipt of Engineering Stores, Estate & Stationery Stores and its records, maintenance and issue on demands, disposal of stores, etc.
  6. Dealing of all general correspondence, processing for auction/ write off various outdated items, etc.
  7. To attend other duties as assigned by the superiors.

Stenographer Grade II, FMTTI

  1. To provide stenographic and secretarial assistance to Director
  2. Attached to stenographic work relating to training, testing, office, agronomy and also typing letters, statements, test reports etc.
  3. Operation of Computers for data entry.
  4. Maintenance of confidential and other specific matters.
  5. To arrange appointments, meetings, programme of Director.
  6. To attend telephone calls, fax and its records.
  7. To attend other duties as assigned by the superiors.

Upper Division Clerk, FMTTI

  1. To attend administrative and Ministerial jobs attached to the section.
  2. Responsible for clerical work relating to correspondence of office, training, testing, purchase of equipment for testing, training and office
  3. Maintenance of service records such as personal files, leave accounts, service books,
  4. Submission of returns, accounts work, preparation of bills (TA, contingent bills, pay bills, etc), maintenance of GPF account, Cashiers job, storekeeping and their accounting.
  5. Office procedure and maintenance of records, files and accounts etc.
  6. Responsible to carry out the duties attached to Cash & Accounts.

Senior Hindi Typist, FMTTI

  1. Typing and other processing works for correspondence in Hindi
  2. Responsible for implementation of Rajbhasha language and its related jobs including correspondence, etc.
  3. Responsible for translation from English to Hindi and vice versa
  4. Submission of Hindi returns
  5. To attend other duties as assigned by the superiors.

Hindi Typist, FMTTI

  1. Responsible for implementation of Rajbhasha language and its correspondence.
  2. Typing of official letters in Hindi and submission of Hindi Returns.
  3. To attend all administrative and ministerial jobs attached to the section.

Lower Division Clerk, FMTTI

  1. Responsible for Diary, Dispatch and indexing of files.
  2. Office procedure and maintenance of records, files and accounts etc.
  3. Clerical works and typing of official letters both in English/ Hindi and its correspondence.
  4. To attend all administrative and ministerial jobs attached to the section.
  5. To attend other duties as assigned

Multi Tasking Staff (Non-technical), FMTTI

  1. Physical maintenance of records of the entire sections
  2. General cleanliness & upkeep of the sections / units
  3. Carrying of files & other papers for distribution within the building and delivering of dak (inside and outside the building)
  4. Other non-clerical work in the sections / units
  5. Assisting in routine office work like diary, dispatch etc., including working on computer, photocopying, binding, cyclostyling, sending of FAX etc.
  6. Watch & ward of Institute premises, infrastructure etc.
  7. Opening & closing of rooms; sweeping and cleaning of rooms, dusting of furniture , filling of water in the coolers, etc
  8. Sweeping and cleaning of training and testing building (inside and outside building), parking sheds, fixtures, toilets, drains, etc.
  9. Maintenance of sewage lines
  10. Operation, maintenance & repair of the tractors, power tillers, pumps, farm machinery & implements & allied equipments etc. available in the Institute
  11. Field operation required for crop production / transportation / store etc.
  12. Driving of tractors & vehicles, if in possession of a valid driving license
  13. Upkeep of parks, lawns, potted plants, maintenance of horticultural orchards, irrigation in the orchards, etc.
  14. Preparation of food in the hostel (for the trainees attending various training courses at the Institute) and in Guest House (for the visitors) including maintenance of Guest House.
  15. Cooking of meals, catering, serving and washing of utensils etc.
  16. Water supply to residential and non residential buildings and plumbing and other pipe fitting works
  17. To assist the Cashier while on Bank duty as security personnel
  18. Assisting the Motor Driver – as helper in the school bus & vehicles. Cleaning and washing of vehicles.
