The NERFMTTI is a subordinate office of Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture, Deptt. of Agriculture and Coop., Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi, which was established in 1990 with an aim to provide appropriate mechanization and technology in agriculture through training, testing and demonsration.

Training: To impart the training on Farm Mechanization and Technology to different categories of people/trainees.

Testing: To test of various Agricultural Machinery and implements as per the guidelines of BIS code and its Evaluation.

(A) For the Applicant Who Wish to Apply Directly: Prescribed Application Form containing Prospectus can be obtained by paying cash amount of ₹ 20/- OR by sending a Money Order of ₹ 20/- in the name of Director, NERFMT&TI, Biswanath Chariali-784176, Distt. Sonitpur ( Assam ) OR Application Format can be downloaded from the website OR Application on plain paper with the necessary information like Name, Address, Date of Birth, Category, Educational Qualification, Technical Qualification along with all Testimonials may be sent well in advance before commencement of the course.

(B) For the Sponsored Nominees: The sponsoring organization may select the candidates to be nominated for the different courses alongwith brief bio-data of each candidate and send it to the institute well in advance.

(C) For Academic Level Courses: The educational Institutes may nominate their students undergoing Diploma/ Degree courses in Agricultural Engineering and send it to the Institute before February in each year to enable us to organize their training in the month of May, June and July. the brief bio-data of each nominee must have their name and ID number, home address, etc.

The manufacturers/applicants desirous to get the machines tested from this Institute are required to submit the application in prescribed format together with the preconditions certificate duly signed and Technical Specifications of the machines in triplicate.

The application must be accompanied with the requisite test fees by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Director, NERFMT&TI, Govt. of India, Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Biswanath Chariali (Assam) – 784176 payable at State bank of India (Bank Code: 2026), Biswanath Chariali (Assam). On receipt of the complete application and test fee, the Testing Authority shall inform the period of selection/submission of the machine for test. A copy of Draft Test Report will be made available to the applicant/manufacturer for offering their comments towards the recommendations of the Authority within a stipulated period of time. Final Test Report will be released after receiving the comments from the manufacturer/applicant incorporating the comments offered by them. If comments are not received within that stipulated period, the Final Test Report will be released without incorporating the applicants’ comments. Other than the Final Test Report, no specific certificate will be issued.

Only commercial Test Reports can be purchased. Copy of the Commercial Test Reports can be obtained from the Director, NERFMT&TI, Biswanath Chariali on Payment of Rs. 100/- for each Report by way of a DD drawn in favour of Director, NERFMT&TI, Biswanath Chariali payable at State Bank of India, Biswanath Chariali (Branch Code: 2026), Assam or by money order.
